RECAP: Charge wins over Victoire in sold-out Winnipeg crowd - The Projector

Ottawa Charge’s Rebecca Leslie’s overtime goal 12 seconds into the extra frame propelled the team to a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Victoire in front of a sold-out crowd of 15,225 at Winnipeg’s first-ever PWHL game on Sunday.

PWHL Takeover Tour arrives in Winnipeg - The Projector

The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) has touched down in Winnipeg for a historic game between the Montréal Victoire and the Ottawa Charge on Mar. 22, at the Canada Life Centre.


The league consists of eight teams but those aren’t the only cities that can watch games. Since the league was created in 2024, they’ve made a concentrated effort to grow women’s hockey by travelling to other cities like Winnipeg in their “Takeover Tour.”

After Sunday afternoon’s Moose win in Des Moines, Iowa, Jets goalie prospect Domenic DiVincentiis was told the biggest news of his career to date and something he had dreamed of his entire life: he was going to the NHL.

While the November 26th game between the Winnipeg Jets and Washington Capitals began with a celebration of Alex Ovechkin’s latest milestones, it also marked a notable accomplishment for top Winnipeg Jets top defence prospect Elias Salomonsson.

Since 2024, Cole Koepke has moved on from college and AHL standout to NHL depth forward.
Koepke’s hard work resulted in a goal and an assist in the Jets’ 4–1 win over the Buffalo Sabres last night and served as an introduction to how he can impact the scoresheet.
